Mumtaaz GetAway 2026

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Sabah al-khair, sabah al-noor.

Alhamdulillah, it’s that time of the year when we finalise our Mumtaaz GetAway plans.

A bit of history. We started off with Camp Hira. The idea was to have a place to reflect on the year that was, and refresh and renew for the year to come. In 2018/19, we started with Camp Hira in Portland, VIC. The next year, in the middle of COVID, we held another youth camp at Allambee Reserve in the Yarragon area.

In 2021, we shifted gears to a family and communal retreat called Mumtaaz GetAway. The journey has taken us to the Grampians (Halls Gap), Phillip Island, the Bellarine Peninsula, Lakes Entrance, and now we are heading to the Albury/Wodonga area.

We are expecting an El Niño weather pattern. So we are looking at having alternative indoor event recommendations, just in case we can’t cope with the weather in December. But it’s time to finalise our hotel and accommodation bookings, and start planning logistics.

For those interested and making their plans, we are repurposing our usual WhatsApp group for the event. May Allah make it easy. Ameen.
